What is Remodel vs. New Construction?

Remodel – These cans are inserted into pre-existing ceilings. There is no need to redo your entire ceiling. Great for limited access to crawl space.

New Construction (sold separately) – Ideal for unfinished ceilings or for projects with extensive remodeling that require a replacement ceiling, and for existing ceilings where attic crawl space is sufficient to allow easy access for installation. Includes bar hangars to connect to your framing.

Does this recessed can come with an LED?

They include a junction box but no LED light. You will need to purchase the LED separately.

How do I secure your Remodel Cans?

Remodeling clips clamp each can against the ceiling. Once you have inserted the Remodel Can in the hole in your ceiling (j-box goes first), the can’s rim will be flush with the ceiling. Push each remodel clip up and outward as shown in our install manual.

Are Sunco recessed cans airtight and IC rated?

Yes, these cans are air tight and IC Rated for all your commercial lighting needs. Air Tight – Our cans meet ASTM Standard E283-04. The air tight design keeps air conditioning and heating from leaking through the housing. IC Rated – Our cans are IC Rated, which means they are thermally protected and designed to be installed in the ceiling surrounded by insulation.
