Unhelpful when it comes to returns.

Ive purchased a few times form this company and Ive found the products to be good quality and competitively priced. We are on a current project and ordered a qty of single Helios down lighters and some doubles too. Nice lights…. The client changed their mind on the doubles and wanted to have us supply additional singles – around 200.00 worth of extra singles. We have had the unopened doubles in a box in our super clean and tidy warehouse since late May 2017 and its now 6th Sept 2017. I asked Hollie Bisgrove Customer Services Advisor at Lyco Group if they would accept them back as they were unopened and we would bear the cost of sending them back. This was the reply……. We do try to be flexible, however as the wall lights have been in your possession for 3 months, we unfortunately will unable to accept these back for a refund or credit…….. So, we have a further orders to place and although I can see that they dont want stock back, I think this is a sure fire way to loose a customer thats been purchasing from them since 2016. A little flexibility would have assured them more orders form us going forward. This would have been a 5 star review if they had have accepted the return, as this I think would have been good customer service and a forward thinking approach to client retention. Im disappointed and the moral of the story is dont buy goods form Lyco until the last minute, as if you change your mind after a month, they wont entertain taking the goods back even if unopened and in the original Lyco packaging.

3 stars: Average acceptable experience but with some friction.

Ordering was straightforward and the lamp we ordered arrived absolutely on time and well packaged. We are really pleased with it. We were given details re. the hour they would deliver in and it arrived as stated. A faultless service. We would use this company again if they has the product we were looking for.

Good price and prompt delivery. Ordered light at 1pm and received by 2pm next day with Next Day delivery. Parcel delivered by DPD courier who provide an excellent service and give you a 1 hour timeslot on the day of delivery. Good communication from LD with email updates. Very happy with the price and service.

Ordered 3 wall lamps from Lighting Direct on Friday which arrived on Monday. Sadly one was broken – called customer services on Tuesday and a replacement was with me on Wednesday. Great service and the best price I could find on line

Ordered 2 light fittings and they were really well priced.

Dont even think they are a real company

Ordered two lamps on the 9th of Nov, it is now the 10th of Dec and still no lamps, every week i call and the delivery is coming in but it never does, Avoid at all cost!

2 stars: Poor an inadequate experience with a lot of friction.

Purchased a large light fitting, arrived but poor quality for the price. Requested to return through the online form, heard nothing, finally got the returns number. Very antiquated returns procedure where they basically email a doc with their address on a plain word doc and expect you to incur the cost of return. They recommend you use a signed for returns method so I am now out of pocket by 12.98! The customer service lady was extremely unhelpful and basically said about my communication that she would park this now. Terrible!

1 star: Bad unacceptable experience, unreasonable and rude conduct.

Other online lighting companies please take note, follow this companys example and youll have satisfied customers.

I regularly purchase my light fittings and LED lightbulbs from Lighting-Direct UK as I always get my delivery when they say it will arrive, really carefully packed and at a very good price! I contacted their Technical Department today and the customer service was superb, I didnt feel rushed and the call was very professional but very friendly. I 100% recommend this company.

Excellent customer service. I ordered 2 LED security lights in October 2016 which worked fine until one of them unaccountably failed in September 2016. On emailing the company they asked me whether I wanted a refund or a replacement (actually a slightly different model as the original was no longer stocked). I opted for replacement and the unit was with me the next date via DPD. Very happy.

One light bulb went and after emailing lighting direct they sent out a replacement bulb right away.

I have used this company on many occassions and never had any issues however that is until i have tried to return an item. Its now been 48 hrs and ive had no reply to emails and their phone lines just go through to an answer message.
