Posted on: May 27, 2018, by :

ps what i did find out was if you flick the headlights when you get out of the car it brings the front and reverse lights on so you can walk around the car in the dark. They then go off. Fantastic feature!

yes..youre being pretty thick !! How can I say this without being utterly condescending….look at the headlight on the FRONT of the car ..on the RIGHT hand side..better known as the off side (this is the side that when you are sat in your car is on the right and when you are out of your car and stood in front of it ..facing it..is on the left!!! are all the bulbs lit… are all the bulbs there ??… There are 3 of them..the dip beam…the main beam …and the side light/parking light….. Oh **** this…have you not got an owners manual ???[/b]

Check Engine – Throttle Position Sensor

It looks a bit of a mystery dont it. One last comment… The side light bulbs are bulbs and not LED replacements? Some people get errors or possibly bulb failure messages.. but you did mention it says sensor so probably wouldnt be that.

I might be wrong but isnt the position light the side light? Just checked on Google looks like its the parking light / side light. Did you check that?

The way the system monitors bulbs is by resistance as the bulb gets towards the end of its life the resistance increases, thus a warning will show before the bulb blows..

i said in my 1st post i had checked and there are no bulbs out – yes all 3 are lit on nearside and all 3 are lit offside (small side light light, a projection bulb and a headlight bulb. The reversing lights, rear fogs, all indicators are ALL FINE too

intermittent position light failure

I wont take offence because you didnt know i was joking about being thick – But any better ideas?

corrosion on the terminals of the bulb can also cause a warning to appear..
