I get a message Bulb Failure Position Light?

OK – Im still at a loss? I had wifey in the car at night to check all the lamps. They ALL work, even the apporach lamps.

Apparently I need to learn the finer aspects of this site. I still dont know where and how you came up with the link above? Based on the address, theres a repair section on this site that Im so friggin dumb not only did I not know about but now that I think I do I cant find it.

Thanks for posting now all I gotta do is look again at the lights, and reply back that this is what it was (hopefully)

Yup, its happened several times on our V70. Standing a few feet back from the car and comparing one side to the other makes it easier to tell which bulb is out.

upper left of the screen hit the little Volvospeed under the big Volvospeed and Tah Dah!

That could be the case, but then the warning would only come up when the bulb was supposed to be illuminated.

When I get that message it is always one of the upper position tail light bulbs

As for the intermittent you are getting, I had this happen some time ago with the right front turn signal would come and go, it was a faulty socket – $8 at the dealer, came with a new bulb too boot – no more problems with that one anyway. . . .

All the light lamps work? Under the mirrors, side of front fenders, back, front, turn signals, four ways, running, L/Rear fog, license plate, etc?

Thanks Ill continue to go insane . . .

Did you check the rear CENTER brake light?

Last time I had one of those, that was it.

You have a taillight bulb out most likely, there are 2 bulbs per side.

yes, same here. i cant find the dead bulb unless its the front position markers; i still cant find a bulb out. probably the sensor. in the meantime ive got an emission code that wont go away ill deal with first.

Is it possible that the position lights (referred to in the owners manual as the ones on the side of the fenders, a few inches from the doors) have dual elements and when one fails it send the warning but still works?

That blasted warning notice is starting to get to me, dont get me wrong I think its great, but when you cant find the problem and the thing keeps telling you theres something wrong its a bit of a nusiance.

(and Ive blown through a lot of bulbs all around on my 03 V70, believe me).

Ill report back if it is the tail or whatever when/if I find it.

Owners manual indicates the lamp thats out is one of the side fender lamps, but they work when the turn signals are on????

or the front bulbs too? i just developed an intermittent fault code for this.
